Trend boys names 2018

We take a look at which boys names will be on trend in 2018. We have scoured our list for the highest climbers from last year to predict which name trends will take off this year.

The Bounty Top 100 baby names list is compiled from the thousands of Bounty mums we meet on maternity wards across the UK ensuring that our list is the largest, most up to date and shows the latest trends in baby names.


There’s a huge rise in popularity of surnames as first names with Hunter soaring up the charts up 33 places to 67 and Grayson up 37 places to breaking into the Top 100 at 93.

Celebrity inspired names are also setting a trend for 2018 with Theodore up 23 places to 70 which historically can be linked to US President Theodore Roosevelt or the shorted version, Theo which has seen the steady rise of Theodore up the charts since Arsenal footballer Theo Walcott burst on the football scene.

Albie and Bobby continue to soar up the charts showing a continuing trend for shortened versions of ‘old man’ names. Albie is up 21 places to 58 and Bobby is also up 21 places hitting 53.

The name Hugo first rose dramatically in popularity in 2012 when Made In Chelsea’s Hugo Taylor entered the jungle in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. It has since continued to climb the ranks and is heading towards a trend name in 2018 as it has gone up 10 places to number 52.
