Girls’ name predictions

We’ve studied and scoured through the thousands of baby girls’ names chosen by Bounty app users and members this year to determine exactly which ones will be popular and heading towards ‘on trend’ status in the next year. Having assessed over 300,000 names for the stand-out highest climbers over the last 12 months we can predict which exactly which baby girl name trends are set to take off. 

Bounty is the most reliable, up-to-date place to look for clues. This is because, outside of official birth registration lists (which are published 18 months behind) ours is the largest, most up to date baby names list in the UK – making it guaranteed to bring you the latest trends that might indicate  the names that future baby girls will be given in the year ahead.

Starting with the Bounty Top 100 girls' baby names list and up 61 places on last year, the trend for naming baby girls Margot, rocketed after You Tuber Jim Chapman named his daughter Margot Grace Alba Chapman. 

The equally traditional name Olive is also on the rise and had broken into the top 100 this year up 53 places from 140 to 87.

Girl’s names ending in ‘IE’ is on the rise with names such as Elodie, Frankie and Amelie all on the rise and looking to trend in the playground in the coming years.

Floral inspired names are also back with Daisy, Iris and Violet all rising up the ranks up 11 places for Daisy and Iris and 10 for Violet.
