After pouring over the most popular names of this year, we’ve also taken a look at the girls’ names set to disappear altogether.  

Some might say that these names have had their heyday, some might be surprised to hear that these are becoming extinct, others may feel that these once popular names may feel odd for a baby today, yet perhaps you have a heartfelt family connection to one of these names - or if you’re  looking for an unusual name that could befit your baby girl you may want to save it from extinction!

Losing popularity for names chosen for girls include once classic names such as Nancy which is down 28 places, Hannah is down 10 places with Evelyn dipping down 8 places.

The once popular trend of girls’ names ending in ‘A’ is falling from favour with Georgia down 17 places closely followed by Bella losing 14 places and Layla dips 12 places in this year’s top names for girls.

Previous trend names are also losing popularity as we approach 2022, including Myla dipping 9 places and Summer down by 6 places.
